Landscape Bed Maintenance Winter Weeds
Grosh’s Lawn Service Tip of the Week # 451 for December 4,2022
Weeds do grow in the winter in some landscape beds here in the Hagerstown Maryland area.
Winters weeds include deadnettle, bittercress, henbit and chickweed. Perennial weeds like clover, wild violets and dandelions will also grow in the winter.
Winter weeds will flower in March, but if the temperatures are warm enough in February they can start blooming.
Mulching helps with keeping winter weeds from germinating on the bare soil in mulch beds with only a thin layer of mulch.
