Happy New Year from your friends at Grosh’s Lawn Service! We hope your holiday season was joyous and restful—we had some wonderful family time and are now enjoying getting back into the swing of things. Although January is typically a slower time in the garden, there are still things to take care of—and we can do it for you!
We are also very excited to be celebrating our 32nd year of business this year and look forward to assisting you with all of your lawn and landscape projects in 2022. And if you’d like to add or change services, just give us a call.

Lawncare Corner
Lawn Mowing and Lawncare treatment Program Renewals
Starting on January 3, we will be emailing our 2022 Lawn Mowing Services Renewals, so please be on the lookout for that. We want to be sure your service starts up again at the appropriate time. Thank you!
Landscape Spotlight
Landscape Service Renewal
And for those of you who have landscape services, we will be emailing you all beginning January 3 as well—keep your eyes peeled for that as well!
Winter Cleanup
There is still a little room in our schedule to complete your winter cleanup at your permanent home, summer home, rental properties, office, church grounds, or commercial properties so your property looks its very best. Invest in that curb appeal by giving Tom a shout!
Spring Cleanup
We like to schedule our spring cleanups for February and March. We’ll take care of anything that needs tidying up before the spring gardening season starts so your lawn and garden are good to go! And if you’re in the Hagerstown or surrounding areas, contact Tom this month and we’ll get you in the schedule.
Winter Weeds
Yes, weeds are still growing and (unfortunately) flourishing in Washington County, including these pesky plants:
- Chickweed
- Deadnettle
- Hairy bittercress
- Henbit
- Knawel
- Shepherd’s Purse
- Speedwell
We will remove these weeds for you now before they overtake your beds—if you wait until spring to handle this, it could become much more costly and involved, so be sure to get on our schedule!
Shrub &Tree Services
Winter Tree Trimming
The ideal time to trim and thin trees is January, February, and early March, and lucky for you, you know Tom! Tom knows what trees need to be trimmed and thinned at the right time, and he and his crew will take care of this for you before spring hits. Don’t risk those ladders and saws yourself.
Winter Shrub Pruning
Shrubs are dormant right now, which means it’s the ideal time to give them a little pruning. When properly pruned, the new spring growth will be abundant and healthy. Make your appointment now so we have time to handle this for you!
Brush Cutting
Winter is the best time to have brush cutting completed because all of the leaves have dropped from poison ivy, wild trees, and wild shrubs, allowing us to safely remove them from your yard or wooded area. If you’re in the Hagerstown area, in Washington County or the tri-state area, take this off your “to do” list by contacting Tom.
Call Us for Special Projects
Do you have any of the following cleanup projects that are hanging over your head?
- Attic
- Garage
- Basement
- Shed
These are perfect projects for the winter months, and if we cannot do the job ourselves for any reason, we work with several amazing subcontractors who can assist in a timely manner. And if you have a project that isn’t on that list, just email Tom with your request. He’ll get back to you the same day!
Refer a Friend and Receive a Gift
We love it when our customers refer their friends to us! And if they sign up for a service, we will send you a $25 Olive Garden gift card as our way of saying thank you. We appreciate your business and are honored to have your trust.
We’d Love Your Review
Many people make their decisions to hire a contractor by reading online reviews because it demonstrates customer satisfaction with expertise and professionalism. We’re in the process of updating our reviews and would love to add yours in! You can email Tom with your review and he’ll make sure it gets posted. Thank you for trusting us with your lawn and garden!
